Author Guidelines

1. Aims and Scope

Artha Vijnana publishes high-quality original research, review articles, and policy-oriented papers in the fields of economics, social sciences and related multidisciplinary areas. Contributions should demonstrate analytical rigor, empirical relevance, and clear policy or theoretical implications.

2. Types of Papers

The journal accepts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Policy Notes / Short Communications
  • Book Review

Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1 General Format

  • Manuscripts should be written in clear, formal academic English.
  • Use MS Word format with double spacing throughout.
  • Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12-point).
  • Pages should be numbered consecutively.

3.2 Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

(a) Title Page (submitted separately)

  • Concise and informative title
  • Full name(s) of author(s)
  • Institutional affiliation(s)
  • Corresponding author’s email address
  • Acknowledgements and funding information, if any

(b) Abstract

  • Maximum 100 words
  • Should briefly state the research problem, data/methodology, key results, and main conclusion

(c) Keywords

  • Provide 3–6 keywordsimmediately after the abstract
  • Avoid words already used in the title

(d) JEL Classification Codes (for Economics papers)

  • Authors are encouraged to provide relevant JEL codesafter keywords

(e) Main Text

The main text should be divided into clearly numbered sections:

  1. Introduction
  • Context, motivation, objectives, and contribution
    1. Review of Literature (if applicable)
    2. Data and Methodology / Analytical Framework
    3. Empirical Results / Analysis
    4. Discussion and Policy Implications
    5. Conclusion

Subsections should be numbered using a decimal system (e.g., 2.1, 2.2).

4. Mathematical Expressions and Econometric Models

  • Equations should be typed, not handwritten.
  • All equations must be numbered consecutively on the right margin.
  • Symbols and variables should be clearly defined at first use.
  • Standard econometric notation should be followed.

5.Tables and Figures

5.1 Tables

  • Tables should be embedded in the text close to their first citation or placed at the end.
  • Number tables consecutively using Arabic numerals.
  • Provide clear titles and explanatory notes below the table.
  • Indicate data sources below each table.

5.2 Figures

  • Figures (graphs, charts, maps) should be of high resolution.
  • Each figure should have a numbered caption.
  • Axes, units, and legends must be clearly labeled.

6. Footnotes

  • Footnotes should be used sparingly and only for explanatory material.
  • They should be numbered consecutively and appear at the bottom of the corresponding page.

7. Referencing Style

7.1 In-text Citations

  • Citations should follow the author–year format.

Examples:

  • Single author: (Roy, 1973)
  • Two authors: (Rothwell and Zegveld, 1982)
  • Three or more authors: (Leibenstein et al., 1992)

7.2 Reference List

  • References should be listed alphabetically by surname of the first author.
  • Ensure consistency and completeness of bibliographic information.

8. Ethics, Disclosure, and Data Transparency

  • Authors must ensure originality and absence of plagiarism.
  • Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
  • Funding sources should be clearly acknowledged.
  • Authors are encouraged to provide data and code availability statements, where applicable.

9. Submission Declaration

Submission of a manuscript implies that:

  • The work has not been published previously
  • It is not under consideration elsewhere
  • All authors have approved the manuscript

10. Final Checklist for Authors

Before submission, ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows the prescribed structure and formatting
  • Tables and figures are properly numbered and cited
  • References are accurate and complete
  • Language and grammar have been thoroughly checked

Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned for revision prior to peer review.
